We encourage you to set your own rates. You can charge by the bag, by the pound, or just a flat fee that you come up with. If you go with a per-pound price, somewhere around $1.50 per pound is fair. You might need to test out some pricing and see what works best for you, and your customers.

Though you’re responsible for covering the costs of completing the laundry service, you don’t need to worry, the cost is very minimal. For instance, bags will only cost you about 20 cents each, while detergent will cost 20 cents per load. By getting local customers, your gas expenses will also be very small. Plus, you could save even more on gas if you pick up and deliver multiple orders at once or while running errands.
Let’s say you earn $50 on an order and complete the delivery of 6 bags. In this case, your estimated costs will only be around $2.40 for bags and detergent, and about $4 for gas. That means your total expenses will only account for about 10% of your total earnings. And who knows, you might even get a tip, which will add even more to your already impressive earnings.
